"This CD proves that Taylor is one of this century's Ancient Futurists. Some of the pieces are emotional soundscapes; some solid grooves. I loved it!" Arthur Hull
Rhythmical Evangelist; Master Drum Circle Facilitator, Santa Cruz, CAWell, he's done it again. Taylor's holy second cd is already finished before I can even start my first. What's good is that this man DOES HIS
THING. As I listen to the cd, I recognize that this music is Taylor. The music is inspired by drumming from W. Africa, but is NOT an imitation. The compositions are his own. Reminiscent of many artists (Frank Zappa
comes to mind), the holy goat subtly brings back the same sound effects throughout several tracks. It is nice to hear musicians have their own vibe, their own style, a trademark. This cd is well recorded, and they
definitely had a ball in the studio with the hundreds of different instruments, and recording effects. The gong starts the whole journey into Michael Taylor's creative, yet twisted mind. In addition, goat man has some
special guests, one of them Madou Dembele from Mali. Although it sounds like a traditional composition from Mr. Dembele's village, it is an improvised jam which really enforces that music is a universal language. A
fantastic session!! Please be aware: Taylor's new cd is mood music. You have to be ready for it, not it ready for you. It is not background music, and if you listen closely, you'll notice more is going on than you think.
